Millions of google adsense publishers are asking this question; “How do I earn more with google adsense?”.
You just created your blog or site, applied for google adsense program and got accepted. Many bloggers believe that by creating a set of ads and placing the html code in their blog will make them billionaires. That’s not true though, because you will have to do some smart moves in order to earn a decent amount of money.
Below you will find some good advice regarding placing and making most of your google ads….
- Don’t hide your advertisements. You want people to click on your ads, right? Well by placing the ad unit in the footer of your site, noone is going to see it. Try to place your ads in the header or in places that your visitors will actually see them.
- Use 3 ad units per page. Google TOS states that you can use 3 ad units per page. Many publishers just use one small ad unit and think that it will make them rich. So my advice is to use all of them to maximize your earnings potentials.
- Blend the ad units with your content. To be honest noone likes ads. Most of your visitors will not look at your ads if they understand that what they are looking is an ad. So the best thing to do is to blend your ads with your content. How to do that? It’s very simple. Just make the ad unit’s background the same colour as your site’s background and generally match your site’s colours with your ad’s colours. This tip will help you maximize your click-through-ratio or CTR.
- Use big ads units. Big ad units such as 338×280 or 728×90 tend to do better than the smaller ones. Try to place a 728×90 ad unit in the header of your site and you will see your CTR rise! If you have a blog, then put a 338×280 after the end of your articles, just before the comments. People will look for something else to read after reading your article, so google relevant ads will surely be of their interest on where to continue reading a similar topic.
- Don’t use link units. Link units are worthless in my opinion. Visitor can easily understand that they are ads so they don’t even look at them. From my personal experience (I have tried them for over 1 year with no earnings at all) is a total waste of space in your site. You could instead place an ad unit there.
- Use a 160×600 ad unit in the right side of your site. Most visitors tend to scroll your site in order to read the rest of your content so they have to move the scrollbar in the right side of your site. Placing a big vertical ad unit there, will make your ad’s ctr rise for sure.
- Try to improve your site’s SEO. People that come to your site via search engines tend to click ads more often than your regular visitors. So in order to have more clicks on your ads, improve your site’s SEO with better keywords.
I guarantee that your earnings will rise if you follow those tips.
