iPad a Phone or Giant iPod Touch

Is the new Apple iPad a phone (iPhone XL) or just a giant iPod Touch, when compared to the Amazon Kindle and a rock? According to this chart, the Kindle and rock seem to be in the lead — though we’d take the iPad tablet over either due to its web browsing and gaming capabilities.
